Kall Fimbulbringer Guide: Summoning and Beating Valheim 1.0's Final Boss
How to summon Kall Fimbulbringer with three Malicious Blood, his three-phase fight with spirit bosses, his resistances and drops, and how his death ends Valheim.
Kall Fimbulbringer caps Valheim’s eight-boss ladder. He shipped with the 1.0 release on September 9, 2026, and his fight is effectively a finale: a three-phase encounter that summons the ghosts of every boss you’ve already killed.
How do you summon Kall Fimbulbringer?
Collect three Malicious Blood, then open the Aesir Passage into The Prison — this boss has no conventional Forsaken Altar. Malicious Blood drops when you destroy the Malicious Ice at the center of Jotun invasion events; Mörkhalla, the Deep North dungeon, also yields it. The passage leads to The Prison, where Kall is bound. The Deep North itself is strictly post-Ashlands content — progression through the biome requires defeating Fader first (boss order).
What are Kall Fimbulbringer’s stats?
Roughly 47,000 total HP split across three phases, with a resistance profile that punishes elemental builds. Blunt, Slash, and Poison deal neutral damage; Pierce, Fire, Frost, and Lightning are halved; Spirit does nothing. In practice that means physical melee — ideally a Deep North weapon from the Nord/Frostfire/Thunderblood lines — with frost resistance for his elemental attacks.
How does the three-phase fight work?
Phase 1 — the melee duel. Kall opens with a physical kit: a 250-damage flurry, a rush that splits blunt and pierce damage, a 160-damage slam, sweeps, and a whirl that adds a frost tick. Dodge-focused melee play wins the phase.
Phase 2 — the boss gauntlet. Kall seals himself in invulnerable ice and summons spirit versions of the previous seven bosses: Eikthyr first, then The Elder paired with Bonemass, with Moder, Yagluth, The Queen, and Fader cycling in as replacements — always two at a time until all are dead. It’s a stamina-and-consumables check as much as a skill check.
Phase 3 — the empowered finale. His attacks gain fire and frost riders, a Spike Rain of 22 dual-damage projectiles enters the rotation, and he summons Tendrils — enhanced roots that snipe distant players with lightning. Ranged players must kill Tendrils or reposition constantly.
What does Kall Fimbulbringer drop?
Sacrificial Blood and a Crown Jewel — and the fight’s real reward is the ending. The Sacrificial Blood is used at the Chiselled Platform to summon Hugin, Munin, and a Valkyrie; interacting with the Valkyrie plays Valheim’s ending sequence. No Forsaken Power is documented for Kall — the finale appears to replace it. The kill also unlocks the Seasoning of the Gourd at the Bog Witch (220 coins), the final ingredient of the Northern Morning Fare feast in the food tier list. For everything around the fight, see the Deep North guide.
