Valheim 1.0 Achievements Guide: How Many There Are & What Locks Them
How Valheim 1.0's 53 achievements work, which console commands and world modifiers permanently flag your world as cheated, and how to check your status in game.
Achievements arrived with Valheim’s 1.0 release on September 9, 2026 — five and a half years after Early Access started. They chart the full eight-boss journey under the strictest anti-cheat rules the game has ever had, with one catch: only progress earned after installing 1.0 counts, so Early Access feats must be re-done.
How many achievements does Valheim 1.0 have?
53 achievements on Steam. The list spans bosses through Kall Fimbulbringer, crafting, exploration, and 1.0-specific feats — the full chain is laid out in our boss order guide, and the Deep North content carries its own entries too.
What locks achievements in Valheim 1.0?
Cheat usage — via console commands or world modifiers — permanently disables achievements for that character and world. The official 1.0 FAQ spells out three locking paths:
- Cheat console commands — using commands like
spawnpermanently marks your character and the world. Characters who cheated before 1.0 are marked too, and achievements only track statistics from the moment you install 1.0 — bosses killed during Early Access have to be re-killed. - Cheated items — spawned items are labeled “cheated item”; picking one up causes only a temporary cheated state, and discarding every cheated item restores eligibility. The free-flight camera
freeflyis an official exception that never blocks achievements. - Cheat world modifiers — modifiers such as hammer mode count as temporary cheats and block certain achievements even though they’re chosen at world creation, not typed mid-game.
The flag is permanent: there is no supported way to un-cheat a world.
How do you check if your world is flagged?
A confirmation prompt now guards every cheat entry, and 1.0 adds an achievements command to the console. The official FAQ confirms the prompt; exactly what the new commands report is still being documented by the community. Setup details for opening the console are in the console commands guide.
Do mods disable achievements?
Valheim has no official mod support, so mods sit outside the achievement system entirely. There’s no Steam Workshop; the Thunderstore ecosystem (BepInEx-based) is community-run, and the official FAQ notes mods need time to update after major patches. Console-cheat flags and mods are separate systems — but if achievement eligibility matters to you, the safe path is a clean, mod-free, console-clean world through all eight bosses.
Can you still unlock achievements in multiplayer?
Yes — normal cooperative play doesn’t flag anything. Only genuine cheat usage does. A clean server run with friends, from Meadows deer hunts to Kall Fimbulbringer, keeps full achievement eligibility. Just agree on a no-console rule before someone “helpfully” spawns in a stack of building materials.
