Mistlands Biome Guide: Eitr, Seekers, and The Queen in Valheim
The Mistlands biome in Valheim 1.0 — Eitr magic, Seekers and Gjalls, Infested Mines and Citadels, black marble, wisps, and The Queen's arena.
The Mistlands is where Valheim changes genres — a fog-locked highland where the visibility is worse than the enemies and the enemies are already terrible. It’s the biome that introduces Eitr, magic, and boss six of eight, and it demands a fundamentally different build than everything before it.
What lives in the Mistlands?
Seekers, Soldier Seekers, Seeker Broods, Gjalls, Ticks, and Hares — plus neutral Dvergr. The Seeker family is the core threat: fast, flying, and they swarm in the dungeons. Gjalls are the flying artillery — their spit hurts and they spot you through the mist. Ticks drain, Hares are the wildlife, and Dvergr are the friendly NPCs whose forts you can loot if you’re brave. The bestiary has the damage table; Seekers resist all physical damage, so elemental weapons and staves are what punch through.

What can you gather in the Mistlands?
Eitr — the magic resource — plus black marble, sap, and royal jelly. Refined Eitr is brewed from sap and soft tissue harvested off the giant Yggdrasil roots; it’s the fuel for the entire magic era, from staves to the Mistlands’ food meta (the food tier list has the Eitr foods). Black marble is the new building stone; sap extractors on the roots feed the whole chain. Infested Mines drop royal jelly — the key crafting mat — and the Sealbreaker fragments you need for The Queen.
What dungeons and structures are here?
Infested Mines and the Infested Citadel — one holds the loot, the other holds the boss. Mines dot the landscape and are full of Seeker Broods, royal jelly, and fragments; the Citadel is the Queen’s arena, opened by the assembled Sealbreaker — three Seeker Soldier Trophies only re-summon her on rematches. The fog itself is the second dungeon — Wisplights and wisp torches are the only way to see more than a few meters, so craft them before you farm.

When do you leave the Mistlands?
After The Queen falls — the last gate before the Ashlands. The boss order guide has the route, the weapon tier list covers the Eitr staffs that make the biome click, and the armor tier list has the carapace and eitr-weave options. The Ashlands are the next rung on the ladder; the Deep North creatures sit at the top.
